Sisters 'n Rap interviews: Fundi Ntshwanti

HIP HOP IS ALIVE.

Who said females can't be dominant by their good doings in this industry? Who said its a man's world? Sisters 'n Rap had a chat with FUNDI NTSHWANTI one of the sisters who have been dominant in Cape town hip hop for some time. She's an inspiration to those few females that have mad love for hip hop this is what she had to say when we put her on the Spot.

Fundi Ntshwanti of ground floor Management.

Sisters 'N Rap:
You're one of the most popular females in Cape Town Hip Hop. You've been involve in lot of Hip Hop events, you've hosted a lot of shows,What I want to know is that what challenges do you face as a woman in this Hip Hop Industry?

Fundi Ntshwanti:
Uhm popular am not sure about that(she laughs) but I do know the right people in the industry yes sure, challenges well mainly its to hard as a woman to be taken seriously in a 'man's world'. They always think they can do whatever you can do twice as better, and before they listen and take into consideration whatever you have to say they first look at your body which sometimes work as an advantage sometimes(she laughs with a big smile).

You work with people then they promise you the world and all of them end up being sweet nothing and when you try explaining that to the artist they look at you and think that you don't know what you doing whereas these things happen to them too. Hey i can write a book about this question

S'nR: As you mentioned these words 'its a man's world' what can we do as woman in the industry to be taken serious?

FN:
Things we can do are plenty but really we can do everything and anything but they all be nothing if we are not truly united and believe in each other by letting each other take turns to shine, cause some of us are in the game for all the wrong reasons whatever, I started off in the game with a team that was dominated by girls as my vision was to bring sisterhood into the game show these men that HIP HOP is not just theirs for them to look at us and see a change in the game not a 'GROUPIE' but of cause the is no Unity between sisters today. Competition to prove I'm better that Fundi I go the better of my team. I suppose the rest falls into place when the foundation is laid properly and honestly

S'nR: Wow mhmmm (with a big smile')interesting so your vision was to put sisters in the game that was your aim. Now that we have lot of Sisters in the game what message would you send to them, how can you motive them especially now that they are being labeled as GROUPIES

FN: You know there's a saying I've always followed and listened too... Each one teach one and we are here to help each other in order to grow . I could preach about how I'd motivate the young sisters and but if they're not willing to help themselves first there's nothing I could ever possibly do that would change them and their ways, the best advise and motivation I ever give to anyone who wants it is by leading by example. I get up and I do things and people criticize but in the end they give up, and I do it all on my own, there is nothing and no one in life that can ever motivate you better than yourself.

Self-motivation has always worked, as long as you are passionate about what you want and ambitious to get it. Women will always be labeled by men no matter what we do, whether be good or bad, it takes you being self motivated

Women will always be labeled by men no matter what we do' whether be good or bad, it takes you being self motivated with loads of self-esteem to be or not be what they label you I mean if the shoe fits.

S'nR: Thank you for your time. I've learn a lot from you, we will keep in touch. You're such an inspiration

FN: Am glad to have been of assistance to you angel. Anything for sisterhood hey, all the best of luck with Sisters 'n Rap ke sana make us proud.
