DOOR TO DOOR
Door 2 Door is an annual event in it's third year, where hip hop artists from
Cape Town welcome their
Tshwane counterparts. Door 2 Door is a wonderful platform where
Cape Town artists get a chance to prove to their local fans that they are the best in their art and craft while
Gauteng artists get a chance to dominate the streets of Cape Town through their performances.
2013, 2014 and 2015 winners of Africa's biggest hip hop gathering (
Back to The City festival) 10k challenge will be lighting up the Door 2 Door stage this year (
Enzo, Big Zulu and
Assessa respectively).
Cape Town's favourite and undefeated lyrical battle champion,
Vegita will be showcasing his battle skills which saw him winning the 5k challenge at Back to The City festival against one of Cap city's finest artists, Testify.
Lolli #SkhokhoSaseNyanga the winner of Sprite uncontainable 2014, which saw him performing in some of the biggest stages in the world, alongside huge international acts such as
Nas, Mob Depp and many more will also be setting the stage alight. Just when you thought Cape Town doesn't have artists to match that level, we bring you of the the pioneers of Spaza rap who also happens to be amongst the very first artists who got signed under
Pioneer Unit and amongst the first local acts to have an international tour,
Rattex. Ruffkat, a beast on the mic and a locally popular and celebrated 'cat' will also be showcasing his skills.
Sibah Anne, Ikasi Has Talent winner at 2014 Ikasi experience, who has recently released his debut mix-tape titled 'The annetertainment' and dropped his own rendition of the WTF- Nomusa will be battling Issa Matthews, the two times Tshwane Hall Of Fame Award award for best perfomance in a crowd-judged performance battle. This promises to be one of the higlights of the day, while FiveSix Jonza promises to get everyone turning up with his beats.
What would a Cape Town hip hop event be without the combination of Delft's finest artists DSO, who when teamed up Cape Town's king of street rap 2013 Pincode and one of Cape Town's most popular hip hop deejays Ranger, call themselves M4M? If you know anything about Cape Town's hip hop scene, you will be very excited to see M4M. Nyaope Boyz, a movement put together by the man who created the biggest beef South Africa has ever seen (Jay Stash versus Skwatta Kamp) will also be on stage doing what they do best.
In the interest of saving time and space, we will conclude to say with artists such as Seyda (Cape Town), Muddy (Tshwane), Alpacino (Cape Town), Bugzito (Tshwane), Rodrigue (Tshwane) and many more, you are promised an epic hip hop night. It would also be false to shy away from the kwaito influence in today's hip hop scene, therefore Cape Town's biggest and most loved kwaito group, Ruffest will also be on stage.
Event will be at Zolani Centre on the
26th September 2015, tickets will be available from the
1st September 2015. Zolani centre is big enough to accommodate up 1200 people and is located opposite the taxi and bus terminus for easy access to pedestrians.
