MUSIC LOST IS LOCAL BRAND

Image
Stevinhio Wanda and Larry Boss Maxongo are the Co-owners of Music Generation Apparel . This brand was made for the generation that was told that they are the lost generation, the generation that was told that they have lost their way. They in fact are the music generation, this is the generation of music lovers regardless of what genre it is. This is the generation of the dj's, singers, dancers, entertainers, rappers and the listeners. We are the Music Generation . The brand is over a year old now and so far has managed to sell over 4 000 units in all provinces of South Africa including countries like Australia , Sweden , England and America . They have no budget at all and rely entirely on social networks like Face Book and word of mouth to market their products. They also use music as a tool to market their gear since their brand is all about music. Their main focus is hip hop since hip hop is a culture that is image conscious. They have worked

ARE YOU TREATED AS AN INFANT IN THE HIP HOP SCENE

Image
Hip Hop people have that tendency of saying you just an infant in this Hip Hop movement so went down to the streets of cape town what we really wanted to know is? How does one feel when people start treating them like they don't exist or they don't add value in the movement and how do you respond to such statement? Is it a necessity for people who claim that they been too long in the game to offend you guys like that? And this is what they had to say about the whole thing       Schnida Nyembezi Hell no... I'd like to say it's not about how long you've been doing it BUT it's about now how you're delivering not to disrespect the Legends but respect must come from both sides and do music. So to answer your question it ain't no cat has a right calling others with that.   Asanda Gwedz-Naytor Dywili My sister it's not really about how long you been in the game or whatsoever. The game need smart people, people who

Having a nice chat with one of the best hustler in Cape Town SnR  Snarks Ou is classified has a hustle artist who always get right deals. So how do you do it? Snarks Ou   I'm really honored to be classified as that, it is one of the reasons that motivate me to keep going but besides that it's the passion, the hunger and self belief I have. I don't wait for opportunities to be opened I open opportunities myself, I convince the corporate people and make them believe in me. I take chances and I goggle a lot, I found some of the big radio stations that played my music through Google. That's my secret which is no longer a secret now cause you also know about it.'then he laugh' SnR   You not doing Hip Hop for the fun of getting in stage, I see Hip Hop lives in you as you passionate about it. When did you start rapping? Snarks  Hehe exactly! I started in 2008. SnR   Yhoo you've been to long in the game mos. What are the disadvantage of getting

What is Hip hop to you? #VoxPops

--> HIP HOP is described as a culture and form of ground breaking music and self expression with elements that consisted of the elements of graffiti art, DJing, MCing, break dance and other elements. Today Hip-Hop is considered to be dead in the mainstream because so-called mainstream Hip-Hop doesn't have the elements of hip-hop and have no meaning. So sisters n rap went down the streets of Cape Town we wanted to know How do they describe hip hop,What does it mean to them and what excites them about hip hop there are so many genres why did they choose HiP HOP and this is what they had to say: K.t. Swaggs I personally describe hip hop as the art of playing around with words to create something that's appetizing to the ear and it makes u forget about your worries i love sounding deep things that take full attention for one to understand and that's hip hop to me something that leaves one thinking how did he think of tht Phuthu

Mbaleigh talks BACK TO THE CITY 2013

Image
So yeah BACK TO THE CITY2013!! You know mos umntomnyama, never on time, I got there at past 7 because of other commitments. Nevertheless the show was just on another level , heard that Snarks Ou and Maxhoseni had people dancing and singing along, even outside Cape Town they still have fans. Having seen them both perform I couldn't agree more . There were some new faces as well, well I forgot them. So we were told about this crew from the "states" called EMC , that was a performance they pulled after some group came in and bored us. They did their thing except for the part that they Performed for more than 15 minutes , that got the crowed bored including me guess the saying "too much of a good thing is bad" applied in that situation whereas the likes of Tumi, Reason & Tuks just to name a few only performed for 5minutes then their time was over. We needed to hear more of their performance though, but who are we to chang
