ZUBENICE THE REDseason - REDseason - REDseason!

Image
REDseason - REDseason - REDseason! "What's all this REDseason thing? Why are you always dressed in red?" If you don't read this update you will have no right to ask me anything about red. My name is Zubenice , a young Rap artist who rather regards himself a musician than a rapper. Let me get straight to the point! I wear red, I love red! Anything else besides that? - Yes, so much! There is a whole lot of us in this Hip Hop movement. There are rappers, dancers, skaters, and everybody, including those who just love it as a fashion. We are just too many and we all look the same. It is important for an artist to have something that will make them stand out from the crowd. It is important to have your own image. I chose wearing red clothes. I wear my red outfit whenever I go to a music-related or entertaining event. It makes it easy for people to recognize me. For instance, imagine you're at an event and there's this rapper who really does it for you! It'

HES YOUNG AND TALENTED THE ONE AND ONLY KAYSWAG

Image
He describes himself as a Humble and funny person who has the ability to stick to his plans and visions. He also says he is easy to get along with. Something I went on to discover as I interviewed him further. Kayswag is a 22 year old Rapper/Graphic and Fashion Designer. A Multi-talented being who began MCeeing from as early as 2005 even though it wasn't as serious as it is now. Like most Rappers, Khanya Fusi, whom at the time was still focus on studying, met a person known as CypherLyric who introduced him to a diverse range of hip hop activities like battling and the ever so interesting cyphers. In 2009 he moved to Cape Town from Bloemfontein, Recorded a Mixtape with his crew and the rest, as they say, was history. SnR: Did the attending the cypers and battles inspire you to take hip hop more seriously?  KF: I had a low self esteem back then. I underestimated my abilities. As I grew older, I began to understand my abilities better. The Cyphers drove my passion  SnR: Woul

HIP HOP DIVAS

Image
They say Hip Hop is a tough game only the best survive. Hip Hop is a MALE dominated genre where you will find few female rappers in the industry, we even hardly see female rapper at the line-up.  Being a female in Hip Hop Industry is very challenging whether you an emcee, fan or a event organizer because mens don't take females serious. Women's are facing lot of challenge across the world not in MUSIC only, we live in a Country where you will hear on the newspaper, radio or television that a women was beaten or she was rapped. Its even hard on us to engage or raise our views in a debate session because the minute you interact on that debate you have a fear of being around mens, you know 4sho that even if you say a right thing you will find others calling you by names more specially in Hip Hop debate they will say "you are a group that's why you say that". Same ladies who support hip hop in Cape Town quit because of such behavior.   Cape

Image
Sisters ' Rap is one of the Heads 'N  Raps fans who happen to be there every weekend so they took the courage of researching about the open mic session and this what they have to say about HnRs!!!!!!!! There was an open mic here in Phillipi, called Udaba Nosiba around 2009, but faded in 2010. Masibulele Ntsikane Lote, was involved in that open mic session and he is one of the artists that used to perform during the running of the open mic session. After the session faded, Ntsikane took the courage of opening his own session, which is known today as Heads n Raps. Heads n Raps is a platform for upcoming and well known artists to showcase their rap skills in the eyes of the Hip Hop music supporters. The open mic session is not only focused in rap music, poets are also given a platform to perform their poems in the Hip Hop session. We all know some rappers started as poets artists and now they rhyme on top of a beat. HnR don't have a age, race nor gender b
